Show! Dance! Play Music!
“Our nursing group went to the CLA performance and it was amazing to say the least! It’s a dance not often seen or experienced in the US. It was fascinating to hear the various traditional musical instruments and see the live show with it. A couple days later our group returned to CLA for a dance and music workshop, and this was amazing! The dancers explained the various dances they perform and then taught us 2 dances! The cocconut dance and monkey dance! Afterwards we learned about the various instruments and played a song as a group. Definitely a place you want on your travel itinerary!”

Fabulous show and workshop…. Don’t miss it!!!
“If you have only one night in Phnom Penh, make sure you include the show by Cambodia Living Arts at the theatre next to the National Museum. The show I saw, Eath and Sky, was ravishingly beautiful, expertly choreographed, and authenticity presented by a talented group of young Cambodian dancers and musicians. I enjoyed every moment! I had a second day, so I returned in the afternoon for the participatory workshop, and had a blast learning some of the basic warm-ups, hand-gestures, and body movements of the Cambodian classic, folkloric, and contemporary social dance. There was a team of 3 gifted lovely dancers and 2 great musicians to guide me. So postitvely memorable…I will never forget it!!! 💖 After visiting the Genocide Prison and Museum, this is the antidote to lift your spirits and also help Cambodians heal and move on from that tragedy.”

Great Show and Dinner
We bought tickets for the show today plus dinner at nearby Friends restaurant. The show was highly entertaining; fast paced live traditional music and just a great non stop entertaining dance showcasing many traditional dance styles. We loved it all but especially found the apsara dancing captivating. Amazing, beautiful dancers. The fixed menu dinner at Friends afterwards was also very good. Very sophisticated dishes with many flavours combined, beautiful presentation and great service.

Following the workshop, you might like to take a short walk to Riverside where you can enjoy a beverage at sunset, as you watch the boats return from their daily activities and watch the locals have fun exercising and socialising on the boardwalk. You can feel yourself relax with each minute.
Before, or after, the performance, you can make your way to ‘Friends – The Restaurant,’ where you can enjoy a delicious meal with taste sensations from around the world. Friends is an NGO who are working toward giving young Cambodians a positive future, and we are sure that you will agree, they are doing a great job!
Then your evening will be completed with a breathtaking celebration of Cambodia’s dance and music tradition at our show, ‘Earth and Sky’. Choreographed by a former prima ballerina from the Royal Palace, you will see eight dances linked together through a storyline. The show includes beautiful classic Apsara dance, charming folk dances from all around Cambodia, rare dances, and original creations, a magnificent night out in Cambodia!
